Movicol is Used for effective relief of constipation. Movicol helps you to have comfortable bowel movement even if you have been constipated for a long time. Movicol also works in very bad constipation called faecal impaction.

Active ingredients (per sachet):

• Macrogol (Polyethylene Glycol) 3350 – 13.125 g
• Sodium Chloride – 350.7 mg
• Sodium Bicarbonate – 178.5 mg
• Potassium Chloride – 46.6 mg

Other ingredients (Excipients):

Depending on the formulation (plain or flavored), Movicol may also contain:

• Acesulfame Potassium (sweetener)
• Lemon & Lime flavoring (flavored variants only)
• No sugar (sucrose-free)
• No lactose
• Gluten-free

Uses:

Movicol is an osmotic laxative used for:

• Relief of chronic constipation
• Treatment of fecal impaction (severe constipation with stool buildup)
• Softening hard stools and promoting comfortable bowel movements

How it works:

Macrogol 3350 binds water in the bowel, increasing the water content of stools. This softens the stool and makes it easier to pass, while the electrolytes help maintain the body's normal salt balance.

Directions For Use:

Movicol powder sachets are easy to use, simply dissolve the content of each sachet in 125ml of water and drink. Movicol powder can be taken at any time of the day with or without food.

Typical dosage:

• Adults and adolescents (12 years and older):
• Constipation: 1–3 sachets daily in divided doses, depending on response.
• Dissolve each sachet in 125 mL of water before drinking.
• Follow your healthcare provider's instructions for prolonged use.

Common side effects:

• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain or cramps
• Bloating
• Nausea
• Flatulence
• Vomiting (less common)

Precautions:

• Do not use it if you have a bowel obstruction, intestinal perforation, or severe inflammatory bowel disease unless advised by a healthcare professional.
